Jose Contreras hurled a fine complete game shutout as the Columbus Crowd
defeated the North Dallas Fire Ants by the score of 2 to 0 at the
ballpark.
Contreras(2-1) was in control of the game from the outset. He allowed only 7
hits and 3 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 2.29. The pitchers took
over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.
Mark Buehrle(7-3) was the loser. He surrendered 4 hits and 4 walks in 6 and
